An Iraqi plane crashes in the  Iranian Kurdistan  province, near a town called Kani Manga. A group of Iranian commandoes led by Major Yavari are commi-ssioned to capture the runaway Iraqi pilot. At the same time a Kurdish group led by  Kak Hushang who opposes  the central government decides to rescue the pilot. The commandoes  manage to capture the pilot during armed envo-unters with the Kurdish group. As  the  encounter  continues  and  the  commandoes  are  attacked  by  Iraqi helicopters, the  Iranian  helicopters also  enter the  battle, and  the skirmish ends with victory for the Iranian side. Kak Hushang, who  is  fatally wounded, confesses  that he  has killed Yavari's  brother, who was  his old friend, when the latter refused to join Kak Hushang's group. His confession settles Yavari's long-standing suspicions regarding the death of his brother.
